ECRA Group wants to make sure that 'no school is left behind' in meeting the federal No Child Left Behind (NCLB) requirements and Adequate Yearly Progress (AYP). For many schools, making AYP is not an easy task, and some find themselves falling short. If your school continues to find itself on the AYP list, NCLB sanctions increase, which makes the task of meeting AYP criteria even more difficult. ECRA can not only help your district meet NCLB sanctions, but more importantly, we can help place your school on track to consistently achieve AYP and prevent further sanctions.
Correct Your Actions
NCLB sanctions fall into three categories: School Improvement, Corrective Action and School Restructuring. The 2006-2007 school year marks the first time that schools who have failed to make AYP for four consecutive years will be faced with Corrective Action sanctions. Corrective Action will require schools to provide school choice and supplemental service, as well as notify parents of the school's status.
During the first and second years of Corrective Action, ECRA can help schools fulfill their NCLB sanctions through the following Corrective Action requirements:
- Devise a research based strategic plan to restructure the school
- Appoint an outside expert
- Restructure the internal organization
- Implement a new curriculum
Additionally, ECRA is able to assist educational leaders with guidance in keeping up with NCLB mandates and organizational goals related to AYP to ensure that no school - and - no child is left behind in your district.
